HELP Prelude is dying

K well here is the deal......Everytime I drive her she doesnt wanna go I floor the gas and she just sputters and sometimes when I just start her it turns over and then dies right away. Now here is some problems I have been having.. replaced exhaust with catback 02 sensor went out also Im burning oil and she shoots out blue smoke also the valves are very noisy, could this all tie together to be the same problem or am I having alot of different problems, this really sucks cuz it happened right before cruise fest (big car show) and i need to get her fixed really fast. Im going to take it to a respected mechanic to take a look at it, but I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas. THANX in advance

Sounds like your loss of power problem is either clogged fuel pump, injectors, or filter. The blue smoke is most likely blow-by, caused by torn up piston rings. The noisy valves could be your valve springs, and try using a synthetic oil w/ Lucas oil stabilizer to prevent oil burning

The reason I was asking was it seemed that your rings are shot. Your sign on is just got nos and was wondering if if you were spraying and blew your rings.

I would first pull my plugs and see how they are. Do a compresion test. Should be about 150 approx. If nothing wrong there check the head and do your valve adjustment. If you see little spring pieces in the oil then your valve seals are gone. That would account for the oil smoke at start up. Sounds like a timing problem with starting up and running then dying, plugs fouling with oil will do that. Is the Venom 400 done right?

Good luck,

Tom

As far as I know the venom is hooked up right, its a pretty straight foward install...ground, power, and the throttle position signal wire and the MAP sensor wire. Im going to double check the install a friend did it for me. Any other ideas???
