HELP! Power antenna nut broke

Well, I was starting on my antenna mast replacement. I know the motor is good, because I hear it when the radio is turned on or off. I was trying to get the cap nut off, couldn't get it with needle nose, so i got a grip on it with channel locks. I thought I had finally got it loose, but all I got was the cap of the nut. I did get the antenna out, but it only has about 10" of the cable attached, so I know the rest of it is in the motor. Now I can't get the motor off because the nut is still holding it. I don't want to mess up the motor assembly because it is good. What can I do. Thanks

Okay, so maybe nobody has had this happen. But I know some of you have replaced your antenna mast or motor. So can someone tell me exactly how the nut is made or how it looks. What I mean, does it have internal threads like a nut, or external threads like a bolt. I failed to mention that it is a '93 SI. If I just have an idea of what it looks like, I will have a better idea of how to proceed.

the nut has this kinda shape with internal threads:

I'm guessing you would have to cut the rubber piece off to be able to remove the motor since there's a kind of lip on the inside of the rubber piece. You may be able to stretch it over the nut though, not sure.

Thanks a lot. That helps me a great deal. I was thinking that is what I would have to do to get the motor off, but I wasn't sure. I bought a used motor assembly from redneck, so I will have a nut and rubber piece to replace them with. Thanks once again. You are the best!

Thanks for the help, and thanks to redneck for the parts I needed. I got it fixed today, and it works like a charm.
