help please--electrical probs, car died

I was driving home today, then the radio and the dash guage (electroluminescent) went off (SRS light came on and off) and on every other minute. Then I finally parked my car at my home and then then, I tried starting it and ALL the electricals died.

I checked all the fuses and they are ok. I think the battery is dead now, but the battery is only 6 months old. However the lude is 1995 with 150k miles and I'm not sure if the alternator has ever been replaced...is this a possibility that the alternator died?

I also had recently relocated my battery to my trunk, could this have added stress to the alternator?

THanks for any ideas/tips. I'm going to get my battery tested tomorrow, and pull out my alternator as well.

sounds like it could the the alternator that died and u were running on battery power.

when my alternator belt slipped off, my gauges died and all my lights and stuff dimmed. good thing i was a few blocks away from home.

oh, this promted me to get a Voltmeter, which has become very useful lately
