Help! mystery sound that i dont understand!

just bought a 95 prelude....i was driving it earlier today and when i went to shift i heard a loud pop. sounded like an explosion. now it makes a chirping sound when i let off the clutch. it doesnt make any noise when the clutch is pushed down. the clutch has less than 400 miles on it. sounds like a throwout bearing but im confused since the clutch is new. any other ideas? thanks.

you should have still been breaking the clutch in at 400 miles... what all did you replace??? flywheel (or have it machined) friction plate, pressure plate, TOB. also what brand did you use? ... kinda sounds like a holding bracket for the spring on the friction plate may have let loose.. if you did it yourself pull it apart and recheck... if not take it back to the shop that did it

i literally just bought it. i know nothing about it other than what i was told. it was suggested to me that perhaps a should bleed the clutch and that might solve it. but idk. i dont kno much about this sort of thing to be honest.

From the description the clutch Release Bearing has went , although this is an old post when that happens I would strongly advise in getting a Clutch Kit With New release bearing & pressure plate / clutch ...
