Help me figure out which sensor that was which i just broke ..
I have a 95 SI model, and There was a sensor under the intake manifold, directly between the 2'nd and 3'rd cylinder ports... Uhh anybody know what it is and where i may be able to get a new one asap?
I took off my intake manfold today, but i have a broken wrist so i slipped.. it was just to heavy for just my left arm to lift up and out and yeah.. crack i bused the sensor in half.
Just for the heck of it, this is what I was up to by removing the manifold.
I had that strange annoying car revving itself at idle problem, so i decided to take the 3 intake manifolds i have, and combine only the best cleanest parts in working order from each. I installed all new gaskets etc and labeled everything with numbered and lettered tape so i dont forget where anything goes.
This better have been worth my time, the problem had better be gone now!!
Think just any regular auto parts store can order that sensor for me, what ever it is.. or will i have to go through honda?
holy they cost that much money for that small piece of plastic crap plug? I wonder how well my car runs with out it haha. Will it run with out it? I broke my wrist im out of work, i dont have $50.00 to spend to fix this thing Happy new year <-- not.
You can run without it. My jdm f22b dosnt have one and i am using a p14 ecu. You will always have cel though. If you dont mind theni wouldnt worry about it. if you have a h22 then you need it in order for your vtec to work.
I got the Si motor, and CEL doesnt bug me, i have 1.5yrs till inspection I guess.. but uhh.... ill buy the sensor as soon as i get the $$ together.. i cant belive i cracked that thing.. its so fragile why would they make it so cheap, damn the man!!!
I delt w/ the cell for about 2 years.. then one day I was bored and decided to do it.... cost me like $150 at Honda... after installing it... I didn't feel anything different...

I didn't think F22's had knock sensors. Anyways you just need a large socket (forgot what size) stick it on the base (the metal part) of the knock sensor & screw it off. Knock sensors are definately easy little things to break. I always have an extra one lying around in case I break my main one. $50 is a fair going rate for a used one, so save up.
