Help me decide, thx

Hi, guys, I am new here. I have some questions. Please help me out.
I have been driving my little 95 prelude s automatic for about 2 years now. It's a good car, but I need a little speed. I was wanting to do a swap H22 engine, but I have an auto. Is it easier to do turbo on a F22 instead? If I do the H22 swap, some of my friends will help me put it on, but how hard is it to change my transmission to manual? Will it fit into the current engine mount? What kind of parts do I need to do all this swap (mount, transmission, clutch ...) and how much (estimate) do this cost around? Does it worth doing it?

Thanks guys

Here is my opinion. Just sell yours and buy a VTEC, if your car is paid for, or not upside down.

You will be pleased with the VTEC in stock form.

What your talking about doing is a major undertaking, that will cost big money.

It's hard to find a vtec around here. So far, I only see 1 vtec 4th gen prelude out of the whole town.

Then check out www.traderonline.com then do a search for 93-95 Prelude VTEC's. Don't limit the miles away on the search. If your willing to drive a bit, or even fly to pick up a car, there are a lot of deals out there.

BTW, I said 93-95 because they are OBDI, the 96 is OBDII, OBDI takes better to mods.

i would have to agree that just buying a different lude would be the best idea. that motor and trany swap would be a large pain in the ass and in the wallet. that motor with tranny, ecu, and whatever other parts like motor mounts and possible axels is gonna cost around 4 thousand for parts alone. the labor, tuning and, finding a turbo setup is gonna cost an a** load too.

im not sure about those axles though u might be able to use the same, i have never looked into doing that swap.

i wouldnt recomend putting a turbo on a single cam motor i dont think you will get results that you are happy with.

Just curious, but....

...why H23A? going turbo? or just personal preference?
why not H22A, anyways if you are swapping in a H23A if you don't have an engine i'll sell you my H23A1.... $800. w/ tranny (5 speed) flat $1,000. Engine was rebuilt about 5K miles ago. just before i bought it, and since i had it, i hardly drove the lude b/c it took me a while to register and insure so it sat doing nothing, until the past summmer when it was registered...

Just check e-bay out!!! Somebody's selling a 95/96 VTEC w/ only 21,500 miles on it, and it's going for about 15k!!! You can't beat that.
