Help Installing JDM armrest over console 93

I converted the center console of my 92si to the 93 console a while ago and just recently found the jdm armrest that attaches over it. Was wondering if anyone out there had any good instructions on installing this. It has tabs on it to put screws through, but how do I get this to attach? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

That's not necessarily a jdm arm rest, it might have been available in Japan as well. It was also available in the states. The arm rest uses metal bracket to mount. If I remember correctly the regular 93 console lacks a mounting point for the metal bracket. There was a console specifically made to mate with the arm rest. Anyhow one screw from the metal bracket mounts to the top of the console and 2 screws go at the base on each side. Inside the arm rest under the little carpet piece are 4 screws that mount to the metal bracket.

Thanks for all the help. I have looked at parts sites to see if they have installation instructions, but I was unable to find anything.

I did not know there was more than one type of center console made for 93 preludes. Was the one that was mated for the armrest from a particular model (vtec? si 4ws?). Also do you happen to know if the correct console has a bracket that is removable, or does the top screw from the armrest bracket attach directly into the console?

Thanks again for all the help.

Actually I retract one of my previous statements. The consoles are the same I just forgot how it mounted. What you have to do is drill a hole in the console for the screw to mount on the bracket.

I actually have the armrest completely dissembled. Attached is a picture. I marked where the hole is and where it mounts. I'm sure you can figure out the rest.

That's awesome, the picture helps immensely. One more question; the two screws that attach on the side, did you drill holes into the frame to attach these? and if so how did you get it threaded for the screws, since you can't slip a bolt on the other end to secure. Thanks again for all the help.

This one doesn't look like it requires moving the e-brake handle. Is that correct?

Would be interesting to see ALL the different arm rest\console configurations that were offered for the 4G line. Anyone know of such a site with pics somewhere

No it does no require moving the ebrake.

There were 3 consoles available for the 4th gen prelude

In the US
1992 Had the long console that went all the way to the back seat.

1993 Had the short console. With the optional cup holder/arm rest.
Without:

With:

1994-1996 Had the ebrake mounted differently. The console was redesigned with a cup holder and compartment.
