Maybe I can help. I recently purchased a junker 95 SI and it had that nasty wood crap inside it. I was like wow what the heck was honda thinking putting this stick on junk in here! Let me tell you.. it's not going to be easy, i promise you this. Please, pick a cool dry area to work with plenty of air conditioning since it is summer and leave windows on the car down if you are in it with the a/c off. If the car is running be outdoors, or in an OPEN garage.

If this picture below (my car when i got it) shows the same wood grain crap which youd like to remove, then you could try what I did. (before)

what i used:

1.) my fingers
2.) skin so soft (or other baby oil type stuff)
3.) plastic scraper (very thin)
4.) a few clean rags.
5.) A LOT OF EFFORT
6.) A LOT OF TIME
7.) my brain.

Now, if you have all those items you are ready to rock.

1.) peel the wood off with fingers, or plastic type scraper.
2.) rub the glue with fingertips into small pieces and remove it and dispose of (not on the floor it sticks to everything)
3.) when the adhesive was mostly gone, I put some skin so soft onto a rag and rubbed the left over residue with it untill gone.

Dont get me wrong, this next photo is my finished product, but it took hours to get it this clean and 99% removed. There is usually a slight haze even after you're finished but if you use any type of shine product for your interior like i do it isnt noticible.

After:

.. Yes thats the same car. *Lucky for me i didnt have to remove the wood from the console, or the stereo surround.. mine were busted so i bought already stock black ones on ebay and saved a bit of time. ~ Good luck!

Brett-Where did you get that piece around the center a/c vents, or what is that part called.

I'm trying to replace but can't find it anywhere.

use a heat gun so it makes the 3m tape soft and use ur fingers to pull it off.

heat guns may be a bit too hot so use that only with caution and pay attention to temperature! you may have used this method before, but when you make that 3m double sided adhesive hot it turns into something like a melted rubber and it could potentially make a bigger mess. A hair dryer on the lowest setting would probably suffice, not that i doubt your method is effective, i would just be concerned with the pastic door panel being warped or burned as well. (if you do the work on a sweltering hot day and peel fast the stuff will come off easily too.

True, if you know what your doing, it shouldn't be very difficult. I removed my carbon fiber dash kit with a heat gun. All I'm basically suggesting is to heat it up so it gets soft again which will enable you to remove the dash kit easier than having the 3m tape hard as a rock. Ideally I would remove the parts that have the dashkit on them, use a heat gun and remove the pieces slowly. Makes it easier if someone is helping so they can hold the heatgun or hair dryer while you peel off the adhesive.

Good instructions on how to remove a dash kit

I had the same questions about removing my dash kit. I didn't want to mess up my dash underneath. Here are some good instructions on how to remove a dash kit that I found online when I took my kit off.
