HELP high rpm

What could be causing my car to lagg in high rpm??
I have a 92 S and the engine is stock. I can really feel the difference from before it lost power. Also how can i increase high rpm power?? What mods will help that?.

At what RPM does it seem to lose power that it used to have? May just need a little tune up. How many miles are on your car?

Have you changed your cap and rotor lately?

Maybe also a nice fresh set of plugs and if your wires are all those too?

change the fuel filter, cap, rotor, get some magnecore wires, denso iridium spark plugs and blast it with some msd ignition stuff... guaranteed power right there.... difference u can feel right off the start... better than those 300 dollar headers that dont even make a difference u can feel.. also the car will run smoother

A header will add more power than ignition unless there is something really not work well in your ignition system.

if you think about it.. every thing happens in the ignition and fuel system first... tell me what would the header flow if the ignition dont burn good?!?!? the less u burn.. the less air to flow.. so lets start with burning first and then work on flowing..... so yeah you can get the most expensive header but flow nothing in it if you dont burn ur fuel and air good...... and the ignition system would do this poorly if its not maintained good

CHECKDIS
you need to CHECK DIS

Those Iridium plugs are crap and a waste of money unless you are going FI.
Try finding copper plugs a step colder than stock
do cap/rotor/fuel filter and air filter, a CAI will give you more top end power, Headers will give you about 5-7hp, much more than any modded ignition ever would unless you had a turbo, and an exhaust would give you another 3-5hp

Also flush your coolant, and if available find a colder thermostat

From experince. A colder thermostat causes the car to not reach the right temp during light driving and it makes the ecu think its still in warm up mode. It runs rich and will eventually toast your catalytic converter.

Change your cap and rotor. I'll give ya a dollar if it doesnt fix it.
You come drive up the hill and change it in my garage.

Theres no such thing as "COLD AIR".. everywhere u go its always gonna be hot or warm... unless its snowing which makes it even worse cuz all the wet sh*t gets in your engine and causes hydraulic failure.... short ram or CAI is all the same sh*t its juss CAI looks better and more even MORE waste of money... and aboutthe DENSO Iridium PLugs... every racing shop i go to recommends and sells these.. usually magnecore and denso combination.... also they all say "people who KNOWS what they're doing uses these"

You can't believe what every race shop tells you. You don't think they might just be trying to sell you something and get you to bite? Okay, on the cold air vs. short ram--CAI gets air from the wheel well. It's going not going to be as hot as it is in the engine bay. It's still getting "cooler" air than a short ram. My $.02

Thanx

ALright, i found the problem.
DONT USE BOSH 4 Platnum!!!
haha
there fried after 2 months.

I put some NGK Vpower plugs in and BOOM.
Its all better now.
I thought the only difference between platnum and regular was lifetime. I dont really care tho caus my car is running great now.

ABout the cold air intake. Speaking from experience the short air intake was louder and i could feel more power in low end. But with the cold air its not as loud but i get better top end. I prefer the cold air. Say what you will but you dont know till you test it out yourself. Different drivers different effects.

And as for the new transmission, its nice. I can now offically use all my engine from 0 to fuel cutoff in all gears. haha. It feels soooo much better with the SI transmission. Now all i gota do is take it to the track and see my new times. I gota do that soon.

Absolute!! hey i wana check out your car.. When are you home? give me your address. I still gota check out my rotor. I looked for your car one day but i couldnt find it. You must be lucky and have a garage.

Check DIS

I'm usually not a rude person and by no means am I flaming you

but you really don't know what your talking about. you should not be providing mis-information. And those race shops are just trying to sell you $50 spark plugs as apoosed to $20 dollar plugs that work better. I know because i have the denso plugs in my car now, and my old NGK coppers gave a better performance and better gas milage. By the way I have a midfied MSD ignition, and blaster coil too.
