help car making awful noise

my car is making an awful high pitched screaching/grinding noise comming from the spark plug wires and distributor cap....
does anyone know what could be wrong?
happened after i pushed my car really hard today

That's what it sounded like when my distributor was about to go out. That ish is expensive to replace too.

Thats the sound that came from my distributor due to poor maintence. I'd stop driving, and check it out asap, could cause some cam damage. Had to replace the whole distributor, got one from autozone, don't remember the brand, it's a remanufactured one, but lifetime warranty, it's all good.

Cost for it was around 250-275, can't remember. I think the from the honda dealer an OEM distributor was around high 300-400? Kinda sucks when you're a 17, and cash doesn't flow quite frequently....

I bought a new one from Honda for $350. I didn't order it online because I couldn't wait that long, but if you can do it. It's alot cheaper.

This is a common problem with Preludes. I had too replaced mine for $700Cdn installed
