Well if you have already stripped it out your best bet is to drill the head off, and remove the stud after you get the rotor off. I always use an impact driver. Basically a screw driver that you hit the back of, and it spins to remove the screw.
did you spray any liquid wrench or brake cleaner on it to loosen up that gunk and rust? i had a problem with that when i replaced my rotors. and just get a rubber mallet and hit it a few times. after that, it should come out pretty easy....
lol, like a minute after i posted this my dad came into my room and is like "is this the screw u couldnt take off?" and he had the rotor and screw in hand. he found a screwdriver w/ a larger head, doh
lol, you should be more specific and say distributor rotor. They both thought you were talking about the brake rotor. Anyway, didn't you read my post in your original thread? I said to make sure you have a perfect fitting screwdriver or you'll strip it. First time I did my rotor, took me 2 days. Now it takes me only 2 min .
where is this screw for the rotor in the distributor? i mean, does the screw go in at an angle so it's paralle to the ground? like this?
---> distributor -->motor
or does it go in perpendicular on the rotor shaft like this?
I
I
V distributor-->motor
for the life of me, i can't find the screw that holds the rotor!! after you take off the cover for the distributor, you should be able to find this, no?
thanks!

the screw is hidden under the rotor and the only way to access it is to align it w/ the notch on the rotor. i think its towards the back, im not sure.
to get to the screw, crank the engine half a second (or less) at a time (with the distributor cap off and take off the cable from the ignition coil) until u can see the screw through the notch.
bringing a post back from the dead. i just strip that damn dist rotor screw. i tried a screw extracter. no such luck. now i nothing to work with but drilled out screw head. i was thinking about getting some JB weld and an old screw driver and seeing if that will work. the logic, JB weld the screw driver to the stripped screw. any other suggestions? i do not want to take it to someone and pay them.
thanks
if its completely stripped jb weld won't hold it...
why didn't the screw extractor work? i would try that as your best bet. just be careful not to break it off in there... then you're really screwed (happened to me last week working on my buddy's maxima brakes)
