I just bought a 92 Si Prelude this weekend, its in great shape and only 86K miles on it, anyway I just joined this board and wanted to introduce myself. I already have a question, I want a repair manual for my car, where can I get one and for how much?
i have a 92si myself, bought with 65k in 00, now has 95k. no problems and it runs like it is new
best manual you can get is from www.helmsinc.com i forget how much mine was, i think about $60 or so. kinda pricey, but the best manual you can get by far...
well, congratulations on the purchase of your 4th gen lude. welcome to the board and enjoy your stay. there is an abundance of knowledge here. as for a manual, yes helms would be the best to get, although i'm really not sure where you can get one. shouldn't be difficult to locate one. goodluck!
Whats up bro! I picked up my prelude early.... I just got mine today too. Its a '92 si 4ws with 75K miles. I love the thing already. Mines blue, what color is yours?
Mine is also Blue, the Si model, its a very nice car and this one is very clean, some old lady use to owe it and she passed away so her husband sold it. Well for now I just need to fix one of the turn lights, it has a small crack in it and I can see moisture in it, so I should fix that, I kind of like the amber color, I know most people get the clear ones but for some reason I think the amber looks good on this blue color, what do you guys think? And the first thing I am doing this weekend is get an alarm. So where do I get the Helms one at for the best price? So the factory and the Helms is the same right? but which is cheaper?
Just so you don't get screwed, check to see if the timing belt has been changed, your at the point where you probley need it to be canged, it should be around 60-90,000 miles. If it brakes you well be looking to spend another 3 grand. The reasone I got my prelude is because the people I bought it from there timing belt broke, it cost them 3 grand to fix and to pay it off they had to sell. Just don't want to see a new comer get screwed.
It's your call on the turn signals, but if you do want to go with the clear you can get them cheap off of ebay, and have burning civics and crx's.
