Hello from France !!!

Hi,

I am French and I recently discover your forum!!!

I have a 4th gen 94 prelude Vtec and I want to have the maximum amount of technical information on the car!!!! Because, although I am not a professional mechanic, I am performing the maintenance of my beloved car!!!

This drives me to my first question :

It concerns headlights. I received a stone in my EUDM driver headlight and the glass of the headlight need now to be repaired. A small lens of glass jumped inside the housing and headlight is now taking humidity!!

My first idea was to buy a set of one piece EURO headlights, but I read so much bad reviews on these parts that I decided to go another direction.

Now, I would prefer, if possible, to separate the glass from the headlight body and to bring the glass to windscreen repair shop. Then, once repaired, to reseal it, on headlight body....

But !!! I do not know how to proceed to properly and safely unseal the glass from the headlight body !!!!

I am quite sure that guys who are able to retrofit HID in JDM headlights can give me a good method, some advices or an How To guideline.

Looking forward to reading from you soon.....

what you need to do is search a little to get some more information. Removing the glass from the headlight isnt hard you need to put your light in an oven at a lower temperature. Around 200-250 degrees F from what I have heard. I am not sure of celcius so youll hafta do that yourself. Heat it for about 5 minutes then pull it out and use a screw driver to loosen up the edges if it starts to get tough again put it back in the oven for a few minutes to soften the sealant. Continue this till you get the glass off then go get it repaired. Clean the inside of your light since its been exposed to water. Get some good glass sealant and proceed to put it on the edge of the glass/housing but make sure you dont put too much or too little you dont want a mess. Press the glass back together and heat as necissary until it sits properly on the housing and you are done.

Just be careful and use oven mitts because the glass will get hot and dont overheat it you dont want to melt the housing or break the glass.

Hi H22ALude,

Thank you very much for these informations!!! I will try your method as soon as possible!!

Hope it will work because to remove the headlight, I need to remove first the front bumper.... Time consuming operation!!!!!
