A 2.3 litre VTEC, dare to dream. A couple Preludes, 4th and 5th gen both, have rebuilt engines similar to this. Are you sure its not a H23 bottom end with a H22 top?

Yes. It was produced in Japan for only a few years, and only offered in the late model Accord SiR-T wagon. The HP output is very comparable to the JDM H22, while torque is slightly higher.

Yes, the tranny can be replaced easily. A manual tranny will bolt right up. 2 hours left, wish I didnt have a JDM H22A now.

I just did the swap a few months ago, so the wifey wont buy another "I need a new engine" story.

Yup.

Sure, this engine would be cool and unique to have, and have a bit more grunt than a standard H22, but I don't think its worth paying significantly more for it. Oh yeah, and it's OBDII.

I put the H23A in my lude at the end of jan. The bottom end is great, little more torque than my H22. But it sacrafices on top end.

Everything is pretty much stock other than the engine. As far as slips go and pics, no. But my I am doing some body work to my car, so I should have pics up with in the next couple of weeks.

And I am going to have it tuned and dynoed after that, so when that gets done I will post them up.

And since I do not know the redline of the engine, I shift at 7,000.

Does it really sacrifice top end? Top end is rated the same as the JDM H22.

Interesting...

I am not really sure. I can't seem to find any specs on the engine when I try and search it. But the car it came out of was the accord R, but it was only offered in an automatic. also the engine does not have piston squirters as the H22 does. so the conclusion that I and others could draw was that it might have a lower redline.

If anyone has a link to some info about the motor that is not in japanese, it would be nice if you could shoot it my way.

I'm pretty sure its just a H22 with a longer stroke (same bore) so that would make it redline lower.

I'll look around and see what I can find.

seems afwfully simialr to the JDM h22 which has ratings of 197hp/ 161 ft lbs of tourqe...same exact comp ratio...so why spend all that extra money....except to be unique...id never do it though at least the Type S boasts 20 more HP stock...oh well to each thier own
