Also, check into the multifunction switch (the lever with your headlight/blinker controls).
Which 1 is the dimmer switch? Is it the multifunction switch? I'm sorry I don't know much at all about cars. I know the lever thing has the blinkers and the headlights on it, should I just go ahead spend the money to get a hole new column with a new lever thing on it and just put it in with all new wirew just in case theres a short? Or could it possibly be a fuse? So many questions and so little knowledge about cars.
The dimmer switch is the little switch you use to dim the dash lights... Not much more to it than that.
You don't need a whole new column, that's just asinine. A new Multifunction switch (yes, the lever thing with the blinkers and headlight switch) at the most. It's not a wiring short, probably a bad contact.
