I am thinking of getting headers for my 92 lude. I have a 95 JDM VTEC motor. What headers do you all suggest? Are they worth the money? Where can I get the headers online, CHEAP!??? HELP ME!!!
run a search on this, there should be plenty.
anyways, the general consensus is to stay away from stainless steal as they discolor and don't look as good(unless youre into that color changing bit)
so ceramic headers are the norm. DC makes a good set, maybe not the best, but competetive product and fair pricing.
if you're wanting to have some uniqueness spoon makes the collector portion.
want to spend money, hi-tech makes what is arguably the best header.
GReddy makes a good one as well.
i would bet 75% of the people here use DC and are happy with them, i myself use DC and have liked them.
if you find a good coupon on importhookup.com you can get DC headers pretty cheap off of carparts.com I got my DC headers for 270.00
thats pretty cheap. although there are cheaper headers, i wouldn't go below DC(maybe Kamikaze)
Tanabe header for the 4G costs HK$5100(US$654) over here. I believe its SS. Its one of the mods I'm contemplating with my year end bonus. Either that or its the VAFC and dyno tuning.
Last years bonus was spent on a custom SS 2.5" cat back exhaust with a knockoff Mugen style double loop muffler. Very satisfied with it.
BTW, I can't get DC Sports or whatever US brand header over here. Mugen's too expensive for me...unless of course, somebody's coming over here to Hong Kong and could bring over a header for me..
...i mean DC has a great reputation and has the best bang for their buck but it would make an awesome combo if you had a greddy cat back, plus stainless steel looks good, i know people would say ceramic b/c keeps the engine bay cooler, but my friend has ceramic headers from DC and not for nothing its just as hot as my Greddy SS Headers...
but if budget is on your mind, like the rest of us DC should do just fine.
you can goto websites like, modacar.com, nopionline.com, preludeparts.com, optauto.com... and some others..
hope this helps.
Peace
