^ I knew there had to be one. Most, if not all, cars have them. At least all the cars I've worked on. Never worked on a 4 gen.
You can check for continuity by connecting the positive or negative terminal of the multimeter to one of the main wire of the headlight harness. Follow that wire to where ever it ends and connect the other terminal of the multimeter. You should here a beep or see a light if there is continuity. Do this for both hardness / each wire. If there all good, move on the the relay wires.
Note: Not all multimeters have this capability. Check before you buy.
** It's always best to disconnect the battery (and take it out, IMO) before doing any hardcore cleaning in the engine bay (ie. spraying with water, etc.) Let it set to dry for a couple or hours (at least a night) before you but the battery back in so the water drys. I have seen countless problems with people having something go wrong because the didn't cover the alternator, wire harnesses, etc. I can tell you from experience since the first time I did clean the engine bay, I blew up the AC climate control unit. I spent all summer figuring out what was wrong and in Texas, summer heat is murder. **
