Having trouble taking out ecu cover

This might sound stupid to some of you but Im trying to take off the ecu cover. All the tools I have arn't working or wont fit. It is some sort of special nut that. Anyone know what it is. I'll give you pics later this afternoon why I need to remove it.

They're not special nuts -- it's just a bit awkward to get to them all. I put a blob of Blu-Tack up inside my 10 mm socket, then used that with an extension to remove the nuts. That way, I didn't lose the nut when it came off the end of the bolt.

However, removing the nuts is not really the tricky part. The tricky part is getting the ECU cover up and over the bolts, and out from under the carpet! This takes some manoeuvring, and it's worth making sure that the carpet is well and truly out of the way before trying to force the cover out from down there.

Good luck!

It's all about using long extensions & I recommend using 6 point sockets not 12 point sockets - I have rounded off way too many nuts using 12 points....including a nut on the ecu cover...

Just make sure you have some pliers... let the nut fall when you take it off, that's the point of the metal underneath it, to cath the nut when and if it falls off. If you take your time you wont even need to use the pliers.

I also found that using pliers is pretty good to put the nuts back on (and ive done this about 5 times )
