Has Anyone Swapped Out Their 92-93 Gauges For 94 And Up??
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS CAN BE DONE WITHOUT MODIFICATION? DOES IT JUST PLUG RIGHT UP AND WORK JUST FINE?
IM PROBABLY SWAPPING MY AUTO FOR A 5 SPEED AND I NEED 5 SPEED GUAGES... SO I MINE AS WELL BUY THE 94 ONES THAT LIGHT UP ALL PRETTY IF THEY WORK...
i have 95 prelude SI.. if i wanted to purchace some gaugse for 92-93 si would it be same as purchanging some for 94-96 or is there a diff?? what is the diff?
damn dude...you could have asked nicely...i didnt mean for the caps to be on..
thanks for the answer though...
I guess its just one plug that plugs up to the back of them. im hoping this plug is the same on the 92 as they are on 94 and up
the difference is that the 94 and up gauges light up. the numbers and needles. on 92 and 93 they are just regular gauges like in any car.
Sup guy's
I'm also doing the convert I have 92 prelude si
and I'm converting to 94-96 vtec gauges
difference is 94-96 has the Electroluminescent Gauge
and the 92 have just the plain ugly light bulb
this is the pic of the 94-96 gauges http://www.hondaprelude.com/setups/setupsdsply.asp?id=4
and the 94-96 gauge in the day you can't see the gauge until you turn on the key
Well guys ive done the swap in my 94 s its just like the 92 and 93 so when i swap the motor i did that as well. You will need the dash board harness it plugs up on both side's the gauge and the
little grey box that power's the gauge if any of you have any more? just ask
I compared a 96 Si to my 93 VTEC. The newer cars use florescent lights on the instrument cluster so it's a little brighter (that's the only difference.) Kinda like a Lexus but not as bright. It's not worth it, IMO, unless you're itching to do mods.
well i cant seem to switch my clusters, i have a 93 vtec cluster and it wont fit into a 96 vtec body...... behind the 93 cluster i think one or the other has extra wires and is connected through 1 or more brackets
the 94-96 guages are really neat. if i ever do an H22 swap i will get the 94-96 vtec guages but otherwise it isnt all that important. but i do like how they dont light up until you turn the key. cool!

Well the reason it wont fit is because the dash board wireing harness is not the same.
preylude22 yes i know that..........anyway i can re-wire it to fit???
I dont think so ive never heard of any one doing that.So how come your trying to put in a 93vtec cluster into a 96 vtec body you should have the electro cluster already

Four all of you guys that cant see the difference look at the pic one more time and you will see that it is a little brighter and it works just like the gas and temp gauge meaning that when you turn the car off the whole dash is black not just the gas and temp
gauge. So it give's a better look if you ask me they should have made all of the 4gen's like this that way you wouldnt have to turn
on your head lights for the whole dash to light up it would work as one. If that doesnt help you guys see the difference i dont know what will.
