The problem all of you are having (people whose cars don't shift) is that you have no command of written grammar.
But really... What I am in the habit of doing is going from N to 2nd to 1st. It's a little smoother than just going into 1st, and it's so quick you barely notice it. Also, if it still doesn't go, spike the engine to about 3k rpm, and then try it again.

sometimes mine grinds, i rev the motor some, keep on pushing and it just slides right in there. how often does the tranny fluid need to be flushed? I am positive its my master cylinder too, i have to do a few things and then i'll tell yall how it does. I doubt its the synchro though

If it only grinds first and not any of the other gears, the first thing I would guess is wrong, is the synchro, not the master or slave cyl.

2nd and 3rd synchros go out on hondas fairly easy. If it grinds in all gears or doesnt go in easily then it can be the pressure plate or the clutch master cylinder which is making it like your not fully pushing in the clutch pedal. you can adjust the pressure plate but if its worn out or borken then ...dir..
the biggest mistake i see is people dont check there clutch fluid. if it gets low fill it and remember TO BLEED THE LINE just like you would a brake system .. its very easy the bleed valve is to the left of the header.
and dont be lazy and try to just look at the resorvor sometimes it looks full and its not
i think its my petal, if i let up slightly on the clutch petal, it goes into gear just fine, its when its all they way down, i sometimes have to take it to second then first. Anyone have some ideas, what would i need to adjust and how/where?!
