Yup thats normal. I rewired mine with a relay to use the H1 as well as the H4 high beam filament.

thats how everyone w/ the JDM headlights first start out as... what some people do is if you have a 3rd wire on your H4 harness.. they use that third wire (its for the high filament part of the H4 bulb) and attach it to the pos. wire on the H1 harness....

well.. i can understand that if it were dealing w/ the USDM headlights... but since its about the JDM headlights here... I believe the correct way is wiring the high filament wire to the positive wire that goes to the H1 bulb.. and use the H1 bulbs for the daytime running lights..

but the other way is fine w/ me....

^well i do have jdm headlights.

and the way they come stock, ( i bought the whole front end) so i used the exact same harness. there is no connection for the high beam part of the h4's. you have to make your own. basically the jdm's were setup just like usdm's. i don't know about day time lights but the way it came, didn't seem like it was wired that way. and if you are using the h1's as driving lights, it will blind the crap out of ppl.

^^ He speaks the truth.

Also, if you decide to wire up the H4 high beam filament, its probably not a good idea to run 2 high beams off that 1 wire, hence the relay.

oh okay then... I stand corrected on the low and high beam... but about the H1s being used as driving lights... you're only suppose to be using them for the daytime... hence daytime running lights... every other new car out there is running them and they're not blinding other drivers on the road during the daytime...

well... if you think about it.. there's no point really to wire up the high filament wire b/c its already pretty bright 'n clear once you switch the H1 bulbs as your high beams... the only thing I can think of that someone would wire the high filament wire is w/ the intentions of doing the DRL mod... otherwise... whats the point right?
