yeah, the cable transmission really isn't cutting it for me..
i've heard lots of good reviews for H2B, but i've heard the ITR would be even better

honestly, i would love swapping a Cr-v AWD tranny in it, but that would be a little overkill for my pocket :\

yes, i drive a 95 prelude type s...

1. Do you have a 5th gen Type S JDM engine swapped into your 4th gen?

2. If you don't, it's called a Prelude S (the slowest lowest model for the 4th gen)

3. Why swap in this transmission? What is your goal? Because there is pretty much almost no benefit to putting in those trannies over the available options that work with h22 trannies.
it's 5th gen, JDM H22A

and my goal is a better transmission... (new flywheels, better shifting, etc.)
idk, i have lots of friends that say drop my current one and go H2B.
what would you suggest for my current transmission?

Seems like you lack some critical knowledge of what you have and what is possible.

Okay, now I know

If you read the reviews for H2B you would know it's for h22 swapped civics so they can keep their trannies and axles / make the whole swap easier.

It doesn't work the other way around (hence the name H TO B, not B TO H).

If you can't work a cable transmission, maybe you should try learning how to shift like alot of other people?

okay, well you got me there...
but i've been going to different mechanics lately and asking how much they'd charge to replace my flywheels and clutch
they've been telling me to just change the transmission

Why would you replace the transmission if all you need is a clutch and flywheel? What else is wrong with it?

my clutch is old and when i replace it, i'd like to get a new flywheel and pressure plate as well.

i was told that getting a new transmission would help it respond better and would be more helpful than getting the clutch/flywheel/pressureplate replaced
the general idea they've given me was that the cable transmission isn't very good

Sounds to me like you should find a different mechanic.

Maybe trade your Prelude in for one with the vastly superior automatic

if you want a "faster" car, get a prelude Si trans (m2s4), but you will probably get worse gas mileage with the F22Ax motor.

order your clutch from clutchcityonline. get the flywheel resurfaced, and you'll be good to go. $135 or so for a stock replacement clutch, flywheel, and bearing....can't beat it!

okay, but with the Si tranny, will that mean that i have to swap the engine again... i'm running a JDM H22A

i guess i'll just skip the whole transmission idea/flywheel whatever and get myself skunk 2 cams and gears, and a stage 2 clutch

is that worthier?? lol

Any F-Series or H-Series transmission (excluding S2k of course) will bolt up to any F-Series or H-Series engine block.

the big question is what transmission do you have right now.

and for the second part unless they did an atts delete on your car you dont have a type s engine in your 4th gen.

there are a bunch of h22 transmission options out there. many of which are better than any b series transmission you can get.

well i'm pretty sure it's the same transmission as it was when it was made.
when i bought it all it had done was the motor swap

so as it's a 95 type S i'm assuming it had a f22a engine before the swap and whatever transmission that is..
i'm not sure how to figure out what kind of tranny it is..

Look on the tranny. There's a sticker that has a code on it.
