well finding a good h23 is a tad bit harder than finding an h22 but considerably cheaper...

they guy doing my swap said 400 bux........but if some ppl help then it shouldn't be a problem since you just have to pull out one engine and put in same thing........

about 4 years ago, when i blew the motor in my second prelude, i got a deal from a local shop 800installed including the motor. But i would say the price is without motor.

yeah that price is just for swap.......but i'm putting in a h22...

you can find on hmotors......h23 engine only is almost 1k........you can find h22 only for 1200....so i dunno up to you.....

i used this as an excuse to finally swap in a h22 cause it would never be done....

^^ well what was wrong with your h23? i will have an h23 just sitting there once i do the swap, and i'll sell you watever for a fair price as long as the condition of part is ok.......

to swap to h22.........its not much to buy........you can use most of the stuff off your h23

i'm in the process gonna answer the :exactly what to buy from h23 to h22 thread just because yes, there are two faq'ed engine swap guides......but with the variety of engine and buying options out there........ppl might part together engine......might buy whole swap

i'm going to clarify exactly what you need before you do the swap

basically you can buy h22 engine only or engine/tranny..........the h22 will mate to your h23 tranny if you want to go cheap but the gear ratios are wrong and wont' feel right......

the more expensive engine/tranny will run you just a tad bit more

general prices before shipping for h22 ~ 1300
general prices before shipping for h22/tranny ~2200 and usually thats complete

Well the engine runs good and I believe it is strong. I never drove any other prelude b4 mine but it stills chirps going in two second gear. I want to change it out because it has a lot of miles on it(189,000) and i believe a head gasket leak becasue I will fill up my raditor and will check it a week later and it is gone( below from where i can see) but my oil is not milk chocolate looking or foamey. I believe it is a slow leak and it is getting burnt off. Maybe that explains why every time i 'm stop a light and give it some gas bluish white some comes out, maybe. also oil pan is leaking and something on the front side of the motor is leaking but can see where exactly it is coming from. maybe oil pump seal. that about it
