DIRT RACER

Today i took my car out and around 5k rpm it started to hesitate and it slowly started to do it at lower rpms as i drove it more.

i parked it and now it wont start at all, i have spark and gas, i cheked it and it is backfiring and poping out the exhaust as i try to start it, only about every 5 sec. though

About a month ago i had trouble starting it but as i hit the feul relay under the dash it started and hasn't been a problem since. I can hear and feel it click when i turn on the key.

I race this car on a dirt track, it is an all stock '93 Prelude H23 5 spd

Any help would be appreiated as i am not real framiliar with Honda's

YOU GUYS SUCK.

IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT THE COIL WAS GOING BAD AND THEN FINALLY WENT OUT COMPLETELY. I REPLACED THE COIL, $70, AND THE CAR RUNS FINE NOW

wtf? Not everyone on here knows everything about these cars. I have never had a coil go bad....and hopefully won't, but thanks to your post, I will know.

well ur info was misleading... u said u had spark... then u mentioned a fuel relay problem... to me that doesnt scream "OH YOU GOT A BAD COIL!". diagnosis is better done in person so good day to u =P

YEAH SORRY about the spark thing, i was by my self and thought i saw spark on the plug i was watching, and since it was backfiring as i tried to start it, i ass.u.me.d spark was fine.
