h23 vtec question

does the h23 vtec last or after a few thousands miles theres leaks and problems? can anyone with a h23 vtec help answer some questions? plus what else is needed other than the h22 head? thanks

its as reliable as H23 so long as you respect the H23 redline.

Proper tuning is also a plus since your hybriding an engine.. with proper tuning via VAFC and a decent block/head are used it should be fine ..

If you rev it to 7200+ all the time ... the H23 crank is more likely to spin a bearring. That's the only problem that had been experienced with the H23vtec hybrid .. spun bearrings from revving too high.

Yes, spinning bearings is the most common problem with that settup. I will be doing it in less than a month, just gotta get some time. I have 2 motors laying around, but i will let you know whats up after i do it. I have tried searches but none help much. Good luck with yours. Dont take the rpm too hight though, cuz then you will be pissed.
