H23 vs. H22 comparo

i currently have an H23 engine in my 93 lude. My engine block is cracked, and my 3rd gear grinds on my tranny, so i am looking to just go ahead and do a full drivetrain swap. I'm not Bill Gates, so i will buy whatever is cheaper... if anybody knows of a cheap place to get an H23 or H22 with tranny, please let me know.

A jdm h22 w/tranny runs about 2000-3000. Or you could maybe get a used h23 from someone here.

from what i understand, the H23 tranny will fit the H22 engine as a direct bolt on. would the H23 or H22 tranny on an H22 engine produce faster accelration? i always though that the H23 tranny was geared shorter (faster acceleration, lower top speed), but some people are telling me that the H22 tranny actually has shorter gearing.

The H23 has LONGER gears. Ask NSLRacer...he drops out of VTEC with his Si tranny.

i need an engine first, or if somebody has it, the whole drivetrain. i can deal with the 3rd gear grind by not power shifting too much, but the cracked block is just a bit more discomforting.

its in good condition...the only reason it is out is because i purchased a full jdm swap....it has like 140000 miles on it though...but the jdm flywheel, pressureplate and clutch are in it. They have around 20,000 miles on them...I had act stuff in my h23 so i put that in the h22 and put that new stuff in the old tranny!!
