Helms (H23A1 Valve Adjustment, Pg. 6-68)
Intake: 0.07-0.11 mm (0.003-0.004 inches)
Exhaust: 0.15-0.19 mm (0.006-0.007 inches)

It's not that difficult. Just make sure you get the adjustments right, do it in order, and do it when the engine is cold.

Order is #1 piston TDC (arrows up), #3 piston at TDC (arrows left), #4 pistons at TDC (arrows down), #2 piston at TD (arrows right).

Intake and exhaust valves go in order from left to right: No. 4, 3, 2, 1.

Just take a wrench and slightly loosen the locknut enough to loosen the adjusting screw until the feeler gauge slides back and forth with sligh amount of drag. Then tighten the locknut without the adjusting screw moving and check clearance again. You do not want to tighten the locknut a lot (20 ft. lb. torque). The Helms then says to apply engine oil to the locknut.

I'll be making a fully detailed write-up when I do my valve adjustment in the upcoming weekend or two.

THeres a writeup in the FAQ section!!!! Some good tips in there. It's very easy, just take your time and use the go, no-go method.
