I got a question, I got a h23 manual tranny that might be going into my car but there are 2 lines coming from the vss area I don't know what they are. They look like coolent lines or something to that extent, where do they go?
TIA
I can get pics if you guys don't know what I'm talking baout
Those are for the speed sensitive power steering. The 4th gens control the assist through the VSS but on 5th gens it is electronically controlled. You should be able to use the VSS without them hooked up. Also, your current VSS may bolt to the tranny as well.
May I ask why you are putting a longer geared tranny into your car?
I couldn't find a h22 tranny durring the time so I picked that up. Hopefully I'll be getting a jdm lsd tranny, but I might be stuck with this. Also when i was looking at the tranny, there's something inside where the drive shafts goes into. I thought you were supposed to see right thru it...
You only see all the way through if it has LSD. The stock H23 tranny has a standard open differential. The bar you see is the spindel that the spider gears are mounted on.
Sorry to hear you couldn't find a tranny. On the plus side you will see a nice increase in gas milage at high way speeds as the tranny keeps the revs a little lower. If you shift a little past reline in first you will be able to stay in VTEC as well.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed, theres still a chance I might get me jdm lsd tranny Anyways I thought it was the other way around since my you could see all the way thru my tranny, but it was a sh tranny. Thanks again
Are you planning on throwing the H23 tranny into a type-SH? I don't that it will fit/work with the ATTS system in there. I really don't know much about it but I have heard there are differences.
