The H23's are wonderful for FI since that have a lower C/R. Like they said the H22 is the best for all motor. You already start with 190 hp stock and it just goes up from there. Not to metion you get, imho, one of the best engines honda has ever made. The Vtec's are rather hard to find though.

Later

The FMAX kit seems to be very complete.

the c/r isn't why h23's are good for turbo. the difference between them is .2(10.0vs9.8). the h23 starts making power at a lower rpm so it spools the turbo faster and it is more of a pain to tune a FI car with vtec. the h22 well done can make a little more power than a h23 at equal boost it is just not worth spending the extra money for the h22.

how can you get a h23 in norway? you guys have US market over there? if not...then there IS a big difference between the h23 and h22, .8 pts in compression. that DOES make a big difference.

Not on e-bay, they aren't. After searching, last night alone, I found about 3-5 VTEC 4th Gens for sale on e-bay. Give it a whirl, b/c they are selling for pretty low costs.

Peace,
J

One word of advice, Germany.

There are so many 2.2l Vtec gen4 'ludes over there it's allmost not funny. Amazinlgy cheap as well. Expect to pay about 150.000 for a nice gen4 2.2l vtec lude including ALL import taxes, VAT and all that. Problem is, it's a lot of work and it'll take you some time. However, you'll get a 2.2l vtec for roughly the price of a nice 2.3l 4ws version ;-).

Now weather or not it's worth it is another discussion (which I'd like to see the outcome of myself), but out of lazyness I might just go for the 2.3l, save up for a year or so and FI it ;-). There are very few 2.2l vtec's in norway, if you can find them they'll usually be in the 200-250k range. Sigh.

Oh and for a last tip, try to find the oldest 2.2l vtec gen4 you can possibly get in germany, the older it is the cheaper it'll be to take into Norway. Let me know how it turns out, send me a PM or whatever, would be very interested in your decision and how it worked out... :-)
