H23/H22 Swap? - Why not use the H22 Dist.?

I have a question arising out of this thread on the HondaSociety site

It says
Quote:
6: take the Vtec distributor off.it is an internal coil one..remove it from the head..take your H23 distributor and put it on in its place also use your external coil..you will need to buy a bracket from honda..that holds the external coil...or be creative and find somewhere to mount it
What is the reason for this? Is an external coil distributor somehow better than an internal? Is the external coil distributor going to be easier to convert to one of those MSD high output units?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Ask Absolut. He has his h23 one on his jdm h22. He told me why external was better but I forgot.

there is no benefit using one over the other. Its a matter of convenience. If you use the JDM dizzy, you will have to rewire some stuff. If you use the USDM dizzy, you dont have to. Make sense?

Anyway to add this to the h22 swap FAQ already in palce? I'm not allowed to post in the FAQ forum, but I bet a mod could!
