hey. i have a h23 and was hearing that alot of people tried swapping just the head with a h22. how do you do this? are they sized different or is it a complicated procedure? does it just swap in or is there any changing of the block? do i lose my overall power curve by doing this? i know the h23 has a more rounded power curve throughout the rpms much better than a h22 but would i lose that by doing the swap? would i get better performance with just swapping the head? where can i get one? anyone know?
not trying to be rude at all but this topic has been covered, try doing a search and see what you come up with. I'll give you a hint, reliability has been a question, since the h23 block does not have the oil squirters the vtec requires
I have read a lot on this and thier always seem to be a problem. One guy can't get his vtec to work, and its really hard do depend on it. And this isn't a weekend project, you need people who know what they are doing, money, and be willing to take chances.
I am having problems with it right now.But I do know when you get them
ironed out,and it is done correctly. You will go from the 160 the h23 came with to appx.190 . The main thing is doing lots of research and taking it to someone you trust and that knows what they are doing.Yes I am having problems with my vtec but that can be fixed. It's all about research and development. You gotta start somewhere.

How are they running type-s pistions in a 2.3L block? You sure it's not Prelude Type-S cams?

I think that is what 93si4ws is doing. Or at least researching. Makes sense to me.

need a new head, seems like a swap from an H23 to 22 will be too time consuming and difficult and rather costly but if anyone knows of anybody selling a an H23, PM me please.
thanks.
