H23 detonation

Well ya'll been along time since I have been here. Had a shop replace my timing belt cause it had stretched. They messed up the install and now I am fixing it. Long story. Anyway, loss power and pinging bad. Just replaced my computer and things have cleared up some have some ping. Checked plug wires with ohm meter and are good.

My question is the next thing I am going to check is if they tighten the tesioner right. Knowing these clowns it wasn't. Any thoughts?

thanks

Tom

Compression test and leak down test were done by second shop and all good. BTW I have 12.5 compression. So fine tune is a must. Cams are dead on with TDC mark.

Check your timing, it may be off.

What is wierd is the timing has no effect on the detonation. It does run better after the ECU was replaced but still pings. Pretty much have the timing set to where it was.
