Yes you will lose money if you decide to sell it down the road post engine swap. No one's going to give you 3K on top of the KBB value just because it has a "H22 swap." Anyone can simply go out and just buy a H22 lude for less than what you'd be selling it.

Only reason why I would consider dropping in an H22 into my lude would be since my body had 103,000 miles on it, looks great for being a 94', has some exterior/interior mods and the interior is cleaner than most 5th gens ...

Basically even with an H22 swap most 4th gens aren't selling for more than 4 grand dude. There's plenty of 4th gens with h22 swapped engines selling for 3-5 grand. I noticed you were selling yours for 6,000...I'd be surprised if you got more than 3-4 grand and that's a person who would jump the gun and pay extra for the rims and mods that you have.

Cardinal rule- when selling, part out or sell for cheap if you are in a hurry to sell, Mods and newer engines usually don't raise the price enough to sell as a whole.

No problem man. Nice clean lude too, personally if I had the suspension work and other mods that yours has I wouldn't be uneasy about dropping in an h22, the car looks clean and an h22 powering it suits it well, but again, everyone has different goals, budgets and tastes. Also, you can do a swap for well under 3,500* ( from what you mentioned). If you look around depending on your location you can find an H22 for like 1,300-1,800 ( even cheaper if you buy a used one from someone in the MANY Honda/prelude forums) and the swap can be done at most performance shops for like 800 to a grand. These are all estimates though, but if you're in no rush to and look around you can save money. Also, if you get rid of your h23 that has around 65K miles or whatever I'm sure you could either keep it and build it in the future ( the non vtec f22 and h23's are great for boosting) or sell it to help pay for the H22 swap...

Good luck with whatever you do though.

IMO i love having a h22a in my 4th gen 4ws. to me what is the point for me is that as long as i enjoyed what i spent into my car its all worth it. its whatever floats ur boat but if u dont plan on having the car for a while then no point. just my 2 cents. vtec FTW
