Alright
left home for a lil while had my friend driving my car came back and ......had thrown a bearing my dads a mechanic and ive just decided to buy a JDM Now i know red92s got his from osaka....ive talked to osaka and the price is damn good ...but they dont take credit cards and paypal wont let me use a credit card to pay them ...i dunno i just wanan make sure they arent shady before i shell out $2k to this company besides that, ok i have a 92 si will i need the wiring harness or the o2 sensor and vtech harness because osaka says that they clip the harnesses at the firwall > i dont know a whole lot about this stuff , but as my father is a mechanic im leaving that part pretty much to him....my other options was to get the engine from Hmotorsonline.com they have about the best deal other tahn osaka...
thanks in advance
not trying to be a dick or anything, but just wanted to make a spelling correction, its vtec not vtech,

to put a JDM H22 into your car you will need:
- h22
- Mounts (your H23 mounts will work)
- axles (your H23 axles will work)
- wiring harness (you MUST reuse your H23 harness)
- Shift linkage (here again, the H23 parts will work just fine)
The JDM harness is no real use to you, regardless of where it is cut. The only thing you need from the jdm harness is four plugs that you can just cut off ( knock sensor, IAB, VTEC OP, VTEC sol).
red92s, so everything is interchangeable between the h23/h22 as far as mounting and linkage? How does the h23 linkage work if you have a h22 tranny? I'm confused....
Also, to prevent spending too much money, couldn't one just buy the knock sensor, vtec 'noid, vtec OP, and IAB without the harness? Lastly, does the p13 not come with the engine?

The shift linkages (and the way they mount to the tranny) are all the same between the H and F series. The "shift Linkage" really just consists of two cables and a mounting bracket. The shift linkage bracket is held to the F22 and H23 by three bolts, those bolts line up perfectly on the H22, and the linkage cables hook right up.
The motor mounts also bolt up prefectly, my motor dropped right in with the F22 mounts. I believe the axles and mounts have identical part numbers from honda between the H22, H23, and F22 engines.
Most people that sell motors are not really charging you for the harness. MOST of the price you are paying is for the motor/tranny/ECU. The only reason they even leave the harness on the motor is because it would take too much time to remove it (thats why it's usually cut. . .it saves time to remove it). Finding the plugs individually would be a real pain, I wouldn't even know where to start looking. Honda probably sells them, but I'm sure they aint cheap. In short, buying the plugs seperatley MIGHT be cheaper, but it would be a LOT harder because those parts ain't easy to come by individually. Most engine swaps, but not all, include the ECU.

Which one, JDM or the one from the F22? I have both. Contact me via IM.
