H22A, not H22A1 or H22A4 just H22A what's up with that?.......

one of my club members is buying a 4th gen with a JDM H22 swap and all it says is H22A , is there a reason why it doesn't say A1 or A4 just curious, is this a JDM thing? Thanx.

Wrong

JDM = 200ps = 197hp

Type-S = 220ps = 217hp

And correct me if I'm wrong but 5th gen JDM engines will say H22A4, so the type-s would have H22A4 as the block code.

H22A=JDM H22, regardless of the car's trim level, including the Type-S

H22a1=93-96 USDM VTEC (although, 1996 saw the introduction of OBDII)

H22a4=5th Gen VTEC

weird, that type s in my last post should read 220. not 200. My fault.

All non-USDM (JDM, EDM, etc) motors will not have a number after the engine code.

The reason for the difference from h22a1 to the h22a4 is the change from a closed deck to an open deck. So the engine code changed.

They didn't make a 4th gen VTEC w/an automatic tranny, right?...

I want to do a swap from my F22 to a H22 but my car is an auto so I need a manuel setup. Besides the manuel tranny and the shifter and the pedals and the shifter cable, what else do I need?

hey Ceasar....my roommate has a F22 block sleeved from golden eagle with block guard. Its perfect for turbo!!! He was gonna use it for his car with a turbo but got it got stolen. Its never been used. He got a new car now so he wants to sell the motor. So let me know if you're interested.

You can have a fully built F22 with turbo for about same amount of money as you would spend swapping in H22 w/ manual tranny. Well..it might be a little more...but you'll get much more power and lots more fun!!! We're actually thinking about buyin a shell and just throw the motor in.

He just has the motor for sale. He decided to turbo a F22 to prove the non-believers that think the F22 is crap. But dont get me wrong...i think the H-series motor is great!...hell i have one. He just wanted to do something different. But his car is gone now, so he didnt get to finish his project.

The F22 block he has is sleeved from Golden Eagle with block guard. Its warrantied up to 60psi of boost. Its just begging for a huge nasty turbo! Or just get a basic turbo kit. If you need help with install or tuning...i know someone that can help out. He has done a couple of 10 sec streetable cars.

According to my GOD, XES, he says the h22a1's were also closed deck between 92-95 or something like that.
