H22a or Frankenstein

Ok Ive seen someone asking this question before....but didnt realy see much that helped me on it ........my father owns a domestic mechanic shop..........so i get all my work for free ......or at cost of parts.....and i get the parts cheaper threw him.......but what would you do if you were me ...i have a 92 Si 4ws it has 177k on it Im wanting toi change the engine although its in perfect shape so says my dad....He doesnt know alot about jap stufff but engines are pretty much the same so he knows what to do with a swap.....would you redo the h23a and do a frankenstein..looking to here from you guys who have them how do you like them worth the trouble ??...........or pop like a 98 98 h22a in and mod it up ??? gime some input guys
definately those of you who actually have h23a with an h22a vtech head conversion

if its your daily driver, i wouldnt recommend it...not a lot of people have been successful with the frankenstein....so you're better off dropping a h22 in there...plus you have more availability of aftermarket parts compared to h23 anyways...

You might want to do a little bit of research. But i have heard that the H23 Block is the same part number as the H22 block but with different internals. So if that is right then the oil holes do not need to be machined they should already be there and all you have to do is add the vtec head so this also means that if you have an h22 you can add the h23 internals and get the extra torque ... if someone can look up this info maby in a parts catalog and then post the info... remember only the cast part of the block is the same so if you look up a complete h23 block it will give you a different number.. i hope that makes sense if not tell me

Just go with the full H22 swap no problems and no worry in the future..

Dont get a 98 h22. Get a jdm, they have higher compression and they are also obd1.
