hey ive just bought a 92 h22a vetch jap import auto tranny and im thinking about dropping a turbo in it. i found some turbo kits for a bit more than 1000 from fullers custom shop. but it is worth it? i use to work on diesel trucks and i know that with auto trannys you have to upgrade with increase in horsepower. im not sure if ill have to upgrade anything on the prelude considering it all stock. im new to the ricer scene so any info helps!

Are you ****ing serious? Hahaha, this isn't a for real post!
I also don't believe you're from England, the Brits gotta have better grammar than you! They invented the damn language!
i dont think they make any aftermarket parts for the prelude auto tranny, it only a 4 speed, far inferior to the manual 5 speed. youll most likely tear up the transmission really quick, most people have that ive seen who have a automatic with aftermarket turbo kits, even running low boost it doesnt last.
i would say start with a standard swap, throw in a LSD
then if u really are planning to boost, be prepaired to spend alot more then 1000 bucks
i just got my prelude and im gonna boost it too, but my other car is a boosted 98 EL.
so, what all does this kit include?
u will need
a good manifold
turbo
intercooler and piping
BOV
wastegate
injectors
computer
oil lines
oil pan with a return line from the turbo
probably a custom DP
should think about upgrading the exhaust if u want to make power - less back pressure the better (my 1.6 had 3 inch turbo back)
when u get injectors keep in mind that u have a resistor box in ur car
things u should consider
boost guage
WIDEBAND this is great at have, dont cheap out if u get one
turbo timer
gauge pod
probably a lot im forgetting, its a lot of work
good luck, hope u decide to do a tranny swap first
not to step on any toes here but honda is a ricer (japs make them... hint the "rice") and trust me ive seen many kids drive hondas with there fart cannons, AEM stickers, and useless grounds effects that never fit right. i would be driving my 2500hd here but englands roads are too small.
kd thanks for the info you know any tranny upgrades? ive only used suncoat but thats for an allison.
o yea and brits cant ****ing talk worth ****.. ive been here for 2 years active duty and i still dont get what there saying
Why don't you save up all your money, buy alot of rare Honda Parts over there (do some research on here to find out the most desired parts) and then sell them back here in the US. When you come back from there, try to send back your POV and sell it over here too. You'll probably get a decent amount of money for a RHD car, whether or not you decide to get the thing fully legalized to drive on US roads. This goes for all cars, not just Honda's. Go for Nissans, Subarus and Toyotas because now that you're OCONUS, there's money to be made from already being there and finding hookups.
i got the prelude for 500 bucks, couldnt pass up a deal... i know alot of ppl here so if you know anyone looking for some jdm parts or something i can help there, wouldnt mind making the extra bucks.
i was looking at a porsche and a supra w/twins but they needed to much work for the money.
On Honda's website it shows numbers based on the turning radius of the regular base model and the numbers of the 4ws turning radius, which is better by a pretty decent amount (I'm thinking it turned 1 meter better with 4ws?) And surprisingly, for the type SH (which has ATTS) the turning radius was a little worse than the base model, but that is probably for the reason those numbers were taken from a standing start, because the Type SH would have an advantage when taking a turn at speed with oversteer helping it and such.
I think it's also just a cool thing to have and show off. Not too many other cars had that option (besides new GMC Trucks and Nissan 300Z Twin Turbo)
