Try using the search button =P. But yeah, the reliability varies from each individual motor. Some of them can take a beating, and is blessed. But some of them can not take a beating. Basic bolt-ons and a good driver can make the best of for the prelude.

I think they're very reliable if you treat them right. Mine just saw 9000+ last night on a mis shift and never skipped a beat.

Over 180,000 miles on my motor and still going strong...but I feel the need for more speed so I'm going to rebuild my motor in Jan to deliver a few more ponies. The motors are very reliable if treated properly. However, once you do major mods (higher compression, cams, etc) the engine life goes down....Nature of the game...the more performance you want the shorter the engine lifespan.

hmm ok then,
how about if i do the following,
i/h/e, hondata, no cat ,wires plugs and ignition, cam gears, stage 2 cams and titanium valve springs and retainers., and an NX 50 something shot
i know nitrous kills reliability but it will be used maybe once evey couple of weeks
can i reach 300 flywheel hp with these reliably?
thanks.

leave yer cat on... for the little bit of performance gain you would get fromit it is just not worth it.... aside from your exhaust stinking to high heaven, you have the wonderful chance to cause a ton of poluted air to b breathed by tiny little newborns causing thier immune systems to become weakened and end up hospitalized.....

ok, maybe not THAT extreme, but yeah, keep that image and it will help you

hmm, well i shift at 8500 sometimes and my engine is still running strong. And i have no balancer belt. I have had a few problems, but those problems have been drivetrain related and not engine related. I have had my jdm for over 1.5 years now.

My honest opinion is that the weakpoint is the rod bearings. But I think im the only one here that has had 2 engines with bad bearings.

Also dont missShift and it will give you 100,00-200,000 miles

ditto.. I downshifted to 3rd while I was doing about 90 mph or so and the VAFC recorded 9200 rpms. However it still runs like a champ and I have higher profile cams too... ouch lucky me!

The H series engines are very reliable unless you decide to add boost to it.
