H22 Install Good Price?

I called JDM Concepts, and here is the breakdown

2200- JDM H22 with LSD tranny
750- Install

I need to buy the belts, and they will install them for free. I get to keep my H23, but I am not sure what to sell the H23 for.

I am still debating exhaust because prices just went up on exhausts again. So far, the Apex-i is the cheapest exhaust, followed by RS*R and Greddy.

I think after everything is said and done, I will be around 3500. If I can sell my H23, and the DC headers, I can make some of that money back.

I'd say 2200 for a clean LSD-equipped swap sounds like a good price. That's probably comaprable to what a lot of the online guys are charging once you factor in shipping.

just out of curiosity... why are you going to a shop for the install?

are you too busy to do it yourself? or just don't want to? or don't have the tools?

it only took me (and everyone who was helping) a day to do the swap.

I am going to a shop because I need the swap to be done right. I have seen too many posts of guys who do the install then complain about problems.

its funny you mention that... when we all swapped my motor, everything was done right, i'm not getting any bouncing idle, or any of the "common" swap problems.

but its your money, i think 700 is a little much to have your car spend like a week or more in the shop.

damn 700$, hey lucke, wheres my check$$. haha

Dude if you take a look at all the posts, most of the swaps done at shops have had many problems also. Sometimes they cut things off the harness;s that they dont think are needed. haha
I dont think you will have that much better luck at a shop. I had some trouble, but that was because the information wasnt really as available then as it was now. Even with that I still did my swap by myself and had no previous experience.

I am having a hard time justifying spending 3500 on an H22. I am going to have my H23 looked at, and I may build it up now that the H23 cams are done. I need to evaluate all costs.
