h22 harder to tune than h23?

Hey guys. I don't know whether I should just stick with my h23 and convert to manual or save up a little more and go with the full h22 manual swap. Is it true that h22 is harder to tune? Also, is it true that a manual h23 has better gearing if I wanted to add turbo compared to an h22? In other words, would an h23 be a better engine to turbo than h22?

If you want to go turbo, yes the H23 is the better engine to use. It has lower compression, more displacement, and taller gearing, all of which are good for turbo use.

most would say that the H23 is better for FI. it has lower compression (9.8:1 vs 10:1 i believe), and also more displacement for torque. BUT you can also turbo an H22 with crazy results, it just gets more complicated the further you go. I think that either you would be happy with, but the H23 is the easier choice...

It is not worth spending the money on a h22 swap if you plan on turbocharging your car is what it comes down to. That 2000-3000 could be used better on your h23.
