I am working on gathering all the pieces for my hybrid project, and one question I came across is about the tensioner for the timing belt. How i understand it is the H23 has a manual tensioner and the H22 comes with an automatic tensioner. I am on a real low budget so i was wondering if i could save $114 and stick with the manual tensioner, and spend it and get the automatic tensioner.
Im not really sure how tight to make it, but i guess i will figure something out. Thanks for your input,

manual is better, quite a few h22 owners replace their timing belt tensioner with a manual one when theirs goes out.

i'm using an autotensioner, supposedly the newer ones are redesigned. i got mine a little over a year ago and it was special ordered.
