h22 engine with h23 trans?

i was looking to swap to a h22 but i have heard that i can use my existing trans?? does it bolt right up and is it really worth it to use the h23 trans compared to the h22 trans??

It will work fine...i think gear 1-3 are the same but the h23 trans 4,5 are a bit longer but not by much.

the h22 tranny is bulletproof compared to the h23. if you plan on racing/beating the hell out of it, id consider putting in the h22 tranny and the LSD while yer at it

this is purely a "ive heard" type of reference, but "ive heard" that h23 owners all have problems with synchros goin out, myself included. the h22 owners that ive talked to have not had problems such as this... also, i was assuming that anyone willing to put the effort into an h22 swap means that they are going to beat on it/race it.... im not sure what mods he's got already, but even things like an aftermarket clutch will put more stress on a tranny's synchros..... does that put any method to my madness?

Ive got that setup im my accord

yeah I have that setup in my accord for a while first with the act hdss clutch and now with the exedy clutch the only problem that seems to occur is the syncros in third they kinda bite the dust quick but fas as performance I beat alot of the ludes running h22 trannies go figure I dont see that much diff in the h23 and h22 gearing wise but as far as strength I have also heard stories of the h22 trannies 3rd gear syncros going out but also good things just depends what kind of driver you are I guess.

Wrong. First is the same but ever other gear is different. If you put on your h23 tranny with a h22 I would reccomend a VAFC so you can drop you vtec engagement so you don't drop out of vtec in the 1-2 shift. As far as syncros I think it happens as often to everone. I have read a lot of posts of people syncros going out on h22s.

I kept the old tranny from the F22A becuase I intend to go turbo. The longer tranny is good for f/i cars becuase it lets you stay in boost longer from what I here. Brendon2k is right though. If you want to stay in VTEC when switching gears you might want to get a Apei VAFC. Anyway, I love it! I top out in 4th at 115mph!

An f22 trans will Not bolt up to a H series motor.
Also, the f22 trans sucks. Its weak, and longer gearing does not make it better for turbo, its just easier to tune for longer gearing. It gives the turbo more time to spool cause it spends more time in each gear without a shift to blow off the boost.
Iregardless of what setup you have, a tranmission with shorter gearing will yeild faster acceleration.

Raise the redline and your shift point.

If you never drop out of VTEC, you'll never get to feel it all over again in each shift!

Yes it will, I have seen it with thy own eyes. My friend Eddie has a jdm h22 in his 96 S model with the f22 tranny.
