I have been reading up about fog lights, jdm headlights, and actually i have fog lights (burned out) and i am waiting for the jdms to come in... but i want to know what exactly is h1, h3, h4? im guessing they're bulbs but what does it mean.... also what would you all recommend me putting in my lights to make it look the best, im going for all the same/close color (white). i just need some help on what bulbs go into the fog lights, and the headlights (for high beams/low beams)
well thanks for any information and sorry about all the questions..
h1, h3, h4, etc... are the bulb/adapter classifications. you can fit any bulb anywhere as long as you change out the adapter on the harness. except for h3, those are tiny bulbs for use olny with fog lights.
oh okay thanks, yeah i have searched on a few other forums as well and all that i could ever find was just the headlight conversions and such which really didnt tell what they were, now i know has to do with the harness. Thanks
also what brand of bulbs or some kind of indication should i look for to make sure that they are bright, (white), the 4000k or whatever, what would you recommend?

when you start talking "400k" you are talking about the color of the blub, not the light output. the higher the number, the brighter it appears because its more true white.
just look for a PIAA H4 bulb that is similar (on the pakage it will say) to HID light output.
..yeah, what he said..what sucks about piaa, tho, is they're pricey (i think). they seem to be best (or at least most popular)..i think some people use polarg, they may be in the same price range..
..like your car, too dude. i also got a white 4th gen, bout to put in my black housings and fogs, and looking to get gunmetal rims, hopefully poilished lip..nice nice..
hey, thanks dis be marcus, i love it, i just got my headlights in yesterday and im gonna be puttin em in tomorrow, gettin new bulbs n everything for them and the fogs..... only question is... how do i get the new bulbs to fit into where the whole is for the lights in the new JDM spot, the USDM one i have doesnt fit... so im gonna have to rig something up, i never seen how people do it before, if anyone knows or can help that would be greatly appreciated... well this is what i mean...
awesome....
i need to go from this....
to this...
im sure people have done this many of times.. im gonna go to my local autozone and see what i can make from some of there parts there... it looks like i need to just get a bulb with a metal housing and place it in there, and run the wires from there... thanks in advance for the help.. -Ryan

The harness that came with your JDM headlights does not directly match up with the USDM harness. The JDM harness uses a 3 prong female connector for H4 (low beam) bulbs, which can also be used with the H1 bulb (high beam).
Since your car is from the US, it uses a totally different harness, but the wires are still functional. I can't remember exactly which wire (red or black) is negative or positive, but if you do a search I know there was a post on it. Simply snip the USDM harness wires, and use butt connectors to crimp it with the JDM harness wires. Match up positive to positive, negative to negative and that should do it.
Keep in mind that if you choose to use higher wattage bulbs instead of OEM, then you're going to want to upgrade your harness to handle it the extra heat.
