I can't imagine that a "grounding kit" would make any kind of noticeable difference in... well... anything really. Just upgrading a couple of key grounding points would be more than sufficient. The car audio guys upgrade "The Big Three", and claim to have decent results in keeping battery voltage a little more stable. "The Big Three" consists of ground from the battery to the chassis, ground from engine to chassis, and alternator (+) output to battery. You can add an engine to battery ground as well, but I find it redundant.
Just buy some heavy gauge cable and go nuts. You can replace all the big wires/grounds you can get your hands on and you still probably won't notice a difference unless you have a massive audio system. Even then, the car won't run differently at all but the audio system might sound a little better.
ok good to know i was only planning on putting two 10's and 500w with 6x9's and 6x5's maybe some new tweeters nothing monster just want to have a little "thump" and clean highs and mids and not have lights flickering like in my old lude thanks guys!!! good to know how not to waste money!!!
Polk and Infinity are two very good mainstream brands. I currently have a pair of Polk 6.5's in the rear deck of my Prelude. Mind you, you have to get shallow mount (AKA Low Profile) speakers for the rear, or they won't clear the trunk springs. I like the Polks in the rear. They're very bright and harsh until they "break in". Don't expect much bass out of them, but they've got excellent midrange response.
As for front speakers, I have Phoenix Gold RSd 6.5" components up front. They're nice, but inefficient. They make tons of bass, and the tweeters are crisp and well defined. However, you MUST amplify these to get them to get their full potential. I wouldn't recommend these being powered by just your headunit (which is how I have it right now ). Stay away from Pioneer speakers (unless you get their high end stuff with the kevlar cones). Some Alpine Type-S or Type-R components would do well up front, and they're pretty affordable.
I've had no problem with pioneer speakers, just don't buy the bottom of the line crappy ones like they sell at walmart. I've also had very good luck with infinity speakers but I've never used polk so I can't help there. For the most part, you get what you pay for. If they are cheap, they will probably sound crappy and fall apart quickly. If you can, try to listen to them before you buy a set.
ok so here is the setup i have waiting to go into my lude right now x1
JVC KD-HDR20 head unit (got it for $20+brake job!) x1 500w kicker amplifier x2 10"fostgate punch 2 subs in custom box(fitted from old 4th gen) and some rockford fostgate 1" tweeters and thinkin of ordering these Polk Audio db651s 6-1/2" 2-way shallow-mount car speakers at Crutchfield.com and already have all wiring and other various hardware for putting in the car once i finally get her!! this should sound good!!!

Pheonix gold? The jeep branded speakers? I have the kevlar honda oem sound system I think..... Wish I had some nice sounds though
Kraserk if u want the tunes go to Crutchfield: LCD TV, Car Stereo, Home Theater, Speakers, Digital Cameras best place online to go for sound equipment and fairly priced in my opinion been doing sound systems for about 5 yrs and using crutchfield.com for about 2 yrs for everything except sound insulator. give it a look they have reviews of everything too. Never done anything with really high brand speakers when i was in houston people only wanted massive systems ex... x4 15" subs and 2000 watts in their trunk and never upgraded the interior speakers so all you ever heard was THA BUMP!! i'm sick of all of that crap now so im putting together somthing with nice bass and great mids and highs where i can really enjoy my music...after all i paid for it i should be able to enjoy it
had and know some ripoffs from ebay so thats a route i prob will never go for stereo equip as for amazon never thought of it!!!! also never even used amazon...off i go!!!

ITS COOL I GOT THIS.....UHHH OHHH!!!!
Had two sony xplode 10's in a non ported box pushed by a 1000 watt xplode amp and always felt it was too much for my taste and the box was heavy as crap. These days i am rockin a single pioneer 10 in a slim single port box with 600 watts and am verry happy with it, compliments the music insted of rattling my mirrors and that annoying licence plate rattle, also tons more trunk space and prolly a fourth the weight. Best buy or circuit city is a good place to go play with some audio to get an idea of what you want, upgrading the tweeters from factory is a +. Back in 2000 i put infinity kappa's in the front of my 92 and blew those out within a couple months, so only being able to afford pioneers top of the line wal-mart specials guess whats still in the front doors working today.
