Will the new 5th gen kit fit on a 4th gen vtec, if so mainly I am wondering about this because of the manifold and OBD2

Summer date for kit

It was about maybe 1 month ago that I emailed Greddy asking if they were making a kt for the 4g. Their reply was that they would have to complete the 5g kit first and then work on the 4g. I also asked them when it was expected and they told me this summer so I guess we will have to wait. Hopefully everything goes well so we can expect no delays.

Me too ... starting to get nervous, VERY nervous. I don't know how I'm going to afford the AEM EMS. What are you doing for your FMU??? Any ideas or plans?

Yeah, the source of my IC piping is a big headache w/ me too. The friend who's giving me the MASSIVE hook up on his old turbo stuff told me that most reputable muffler shops should be able to fabricate the IC piping, since they deal w/ pipes & bending all of the time. Let me know if you hear about any good sources for IC piping... Regarding the manifold, give the revhard website a whirl. After researching & asking around, I hear that their manifold is pretty d@mn good. Unless anything else good pops up before I get the money, I'm going w/ revhard's mani... Good luck, and keep us posted. It looks like we're going through the same headaches & probs w/ our do-it-yourself turbo kits...

the reason i want the greddy kit is because, the install is vey clean , it should put out optimal power, and there is no customizing needed, but i am interested in a couple drag kits, and also a custom setup, would any of you think that a custom setup would be more cost efficient and find more gains??????????

i posted that in the FI forum once.. and there is alot of little BS that you gotta find.. all the clamps, hoses.. etc etc. nuts bolts.. alot goes into a custom that i dont wanna deal with.. i think the best bet would by a kit.. and modify it.

I am wanting to know if anyone has the Drag Gen 3 kit yet.... if its any better.

for the piping, just order some mandrel bent piping from jcwhitney. they sell pre-bent piping in 90 degree bends, u-bends, etc. then use that piping to make your own preliminary piping. or you could just use that. but you want to have the least amount of rubber clamp/connections as possible, as those are heat sponges. once you've made your prelim, just take it to a muffler shop and have them bend you some piping matched to your prelim. or you could just weld the connections of your prelim and use that.

The thing is is that I'm probably just going to drop my ride off at Motorsport Dynamics, in Sacramento, and have them do the install. I need to contact them to find out if they can do piping or not ... then I could eliminate the trip to the muffler shop.

I agree that the nuts, bolts, and connectors is going to be nit-picky and painful for a day or so, but once I get that stuff, my custom kit is going to cost me much less than the off-the-shelf kit, minus the AEM EMS. I think that it's more cost-effective to just get what you want, up front, install it, and be done with it, instead of modifying parts later. When you modify one thing in a turbo system, you'll need to modify a few other things, thus sucking up even MORE time and money than you would have spent just doing the custom route, right??
