GReddy SP2 Installed Sound Clip Available

Hey guys,

Made a thread before about getting new stuff for the car. Well, I got the exhaust installed. Pictures are posted in this thread: New Toys for the Lude Finally!

I did happen to get a soundclip. We used my friend's Olympus digicam that happened to be able to do movie clips with a mic. In the short vid, I revved to about 4k. Maybe I'll get some flyby vids next time.

Sound clip is with AEM CAI, eBay Race Cat (resonated test pipe), and GReddy SP2 exhaust.

It's a .mov file, so you need quicktime player or something.

I think if I had a real digital video camera it might have turned out better. I also think it might have sounded better if I was actually driving with the car under load.

I think also a common mistake is putting the mic too close to the exhaust, and the gas that comes out blows on the microphone, but yeah, I think maybe a really sensitive microphone, or some professional audio equipment helps, but I've seen a vid a couple guys took of a 4th gen with a Fujisubo cat back, and seemed like a regular cam corder / digital cam, sounded fine to me

Yohan: Very nice color!!! How much did it cost you to re-paint the whole car and how long did it take? Can you post a picture of engine bay? I'd like to see how far the body shop was able to reach to paint over the old red. TIA.

you guys whored the thread about me ?? awe im touched .. but uhm

I got a greddy SP too .. ITS FRIKKIN LOUD .. I was expecting it to be a bit more subtle but some guys at te last import meet said yea .. its hella loud .. ... but it looks cool . about the same sound as my past hyame axle back ., but I'm gonna wait for it to settle down a bit with some more miles ...

Have you guys notice it quited down ? .. the above sounds about right at idle .. when air pushes though it without load it kinda is farty but once its going its a mean growl .. .

Hasn't quieted down any for me yet. Probably won't quiet down much for me with my test pipe. I love the sound when I'm punchin' it though. I don't mind the volume, I like it now.
