It's a very thick (feels padded) paper gasket.

Same here, cept mine is at the cat. I can't find a gasket anywhere. I eventually cut one to fit from another gasket, but that lasted about a day. Can you use paper gasket material? Later.

GReddy exhaust manifold for the H22a (1,4,etc) Comes with the gasket that goes between the upper and lower exhaust manifold the and the gasket that goes between the lower exhaust manifold and the cat/test pipe. The lower exhaust manifold has the grove in it just like the o.e. exhaust manifold for one of the donut gaskets (circle gasket) this gasket can be found at your local Honda dealer (or you can save a few bucks and buy from HondaAutomotiveParts.com). I may have some extras let me check around.

here's the o.e. Honda gasket, in sealed package

here's the GReddy gasket

Both gaskets are brand new, never used. Still have packages for both. Btw, the exhaust manifold does no use "paper" gaskets. Both gaskets are metal. If you'd like to purchase either gasket let me know.

Yellow, those are not the gaskets they are talking about. He wants to know about the gasket that is between the upper portion of the header and the down pipe. The gasket you are showing has one hole and that is obviously not the right gasket for a 4-2-1 header.

The GReddy header comes with a paper like (very thick) gasket which is silver in color. It's not metal and it's not flimsy like paper. When you screw the two pieces of the header together the flanges make an outline in the gasket so it isn't metal but it is stiff and that's why I say it is almost padded.

The gasket they are talking about has two holes because it connects the two pipes from the upper header to the two pipes in the down pipe.

The gasket that connects the downpipe to the cat is a ring gasket like pictured above. I didn't use this gasket and everything is just fine.

The gasket that goes between the top portion and the bottom portion of the exhaust manifold is not made out of paper, it is metal just like the gasket that goes between the exhaust manifold and the cat/test pipe. As pictures above.

It is not the same as the gasket that goes between the exhaust manfiold and the head, it is a thicker soft metal.

would i be able to make a gasket out of a thin metal? i was thinking of just taking out the greddy header and tracing it onto a thin metal material, cutting it and using that instead...i heard a lot of people are having problems with the greddy gaskets so i figure one i could make would be better

You're confusing the crap out of me. One minute your talking about the "upper portion and the bottom portion of the exhaust manifold." That's why I responded the way I did because it sounded like you were saying that it is like the metal used for the exhaust manifold.

The upper portion of the header connects to the exhaust manifold and the paper thin metal exhaust manifold gasket is between the two.

The gasket in question is probably a VERY soft metal. I thouhgt it was a paper like substance because I could easily bend it and it is soft.

92, I would try using sheet metal to make the gasket you need. I would make two of them and put them together between the upper portion and the downpipe just to give it a little more height and protection.

You should be able to Joel but 92 is saying that the dealer is telling him to Go to GReddy and GReddy is telling him to go back to the authorized dealer.

I'm just glad mine came with the hardware it was supposed to.

I just called Greddy.

The part number for the 4-2 gasket is 9900043A Retail is $6.00 and it's the same for all greddy headers.
