I just picked up a set of jdm 1 piece headlights for my car. They had a little bit of clear coat peeling off. So I decided to wet sand them. Started off with 400 grit, 600, 800, 1000, and then 1500. Washed them off, dried them and polished it up. Came out pretty nice. I'm going to be adding some xpel protectant film before I put them on the car.

Looking good! Could you perhaps make a detailed write up for correctly wetsanding the headlights because I'd like to do this to mine before installing them, and I really don't want to mess them up for wetsanding them wrong.
Yeah, the JDM headlight's beam is angled to shine more light onto the left side of the road - remember, they drive on the opposite side compared to us. USDM lights are angled to the right side.

I just did this earlier today. I wetsanded it down using the steps in the link above. I used Renovo plastic cleaner to bring the lights back to life. Then I used Plexus polisher to protect it a bit.
When I finished the sanding it looked like SH!T......I thought I did something wrong. I applied the Renovo on their and it still wasn't enough. I then used my drill and a foam applicator pad that connects to the drill and voila......the headlight (driver side....I woulda done the passenger but it still looks good and I was too lazy.....it's boring work......very tedious) looks brand new.
