Well I finally found a vtec that is close to home that may be worth looking at...
1993 Honda Prelude. 2.2L 5-Speed. Black Cloth interior Excellent cond. Bright Red Exterior also great. AAS Combat Full Body Kit, 17" MKW Chrome Wheels w/toyo proxes, JDM Clear Corners, Euro tail lights, Pioneer Head Unit and 3-way 6.5"'s, 2 12" MTX, 2 Eclipse Amps, Engine Dress-Up, Timing belt replaced @ 100K, new water pump, brand new battery, oil changed every 3000 miles, and just done. Very Good Condition.
-It also has 128k miles on it-
Just curious what you guys think this car is worth...the guy has 7k as his list price...He is the second or third owner I cant remember, but the guy that owned it before him was a mechanic and did all the after market work to it..
Thanks for the help
You can always talk him down from 7k. I think it is a good buy at that price if he can document the oil changes and service. Not so sure about the Chrome wheels though.
High retail on NADA is 6800 dollars. So he is right in the ball park + the money he has into it. Offer him 6500 if you are adament about purchasing it. What is the worst he could say??? No!
Well I personally wouldn't buy it because it's already pretty modified (visually). Don't you want to buy a prelude and make it how YOU want it to look, not what someone else thought it should look like? Maybe that's just me. But if it's your thing, with all that stuff, 7k doesn't sound too bad.

Thats the autotrader add...I agree the rims have to go and so do the "euro tails" But its just soo hard to find a vtec with low miles for a good price...Hell I cant even find an si worth looking at around my area Ive dont up too 200 mile searches on autotrader and cars.com for the past 3 weeks and havent found a thing.
And yes Id like to find one that isnt already modded..unless it has mods that I wanted to do in the first place...
you just have to be patient, you'll find a good buy at some point. If it's one thing I've learned in buying cars... it's that when you buy in haste, that car that you've been waiting SO long for, comes up as soon as you 'settle' for something else.
how do you know its a vtec,,,,,it doesnt say that anywhere. If the seller doesnt list that its prob jst an S which I wouldnt buy! (again) Im currently selling my S because I found a sweet Si bone stock and in immaculate condition two weeks ago and bought it. Just keep searching!!!!!!!
Mine is the perfect car for you Kyle, it's just sitting in the garage waiting for you
Seriously though, if the paint is in good condition (hard to find a red one that isn't turning pink) and the all the maintenance is documented, then it is definitely worth the $7000. Offer him $6500 because of the horrible wheels.
Just curious, is he including all the stock equipment in the price - rims etc. like I did?

Good catch! I just read through it and it doesn't say it anywhere. It could be the 2.2L S model with only 135 hp, no rear disc brakes etc.
Definitely check into this Kyle. If it is the S model then it isn't worth anywhere near $7000.
