Got no spark and running out of ideas

So I've got a 95 lude with a swapped h22a1 and It ran great untill recently when the fuel filter plugged up. I got a new filter in the mail and it started up just fine but when running it missed a couple times but picked back up and ran great after about a half mile. I figured it was air in the line or something and figured it had fixed itself.

Well the next day i jump in it to head to work and it wont start it just turns. Later that day after f-in with the fuel vent for awhile and getting nothing i checked and had no spark and came to find the distributor cap was fowled and get a new one along with a new rotor. Swapping these parts got it started and it ran about a mile cut out a couple times then died and wont start.

I towed it back home and its got spark going to the distributor cap but not coming out of the cap. How likely is it that the distributor is messin up and how do i check it?

well, if you replaced the cap/rotor, and there are signs that connection is being made between the two (rub marks on the contacts)...then yeah, I'd say its your distributor. just go buy one, if it fixes it, great! if not, return it and we'll go from there.

well check that out i got the run around from fedex for a week but i got a new dissy and it doesnt fit like it should have.

Either way i messed around with the four connections on one of the parts inside the old dissy and they were rusty so i scraped that crap off and put some dielectric grease on them. So it just started up just fine when i put it all back together.

I noticed the motor has a little shake when it goes down to 1000 rpm and i dont really remember i doing that before this whole mess. Other than that i havent driven it around much but it tried cutting out just a a couple times when i reved it up.

I had a similiar issue with my a1. Question im guessing you didnt convert it to obo2. Im assuming you pulled each spark plug to see that they are all not getting spark? if not see if any are getting spark. Also when you say your getting spark from ignition coil is it a constant spark and not just one right?

Well in the last couple weeks i got a new distributor for obd1 h22a and it had an internal coil but i couldnt return it so i took the igniter out of it and put it in my car which started right up. Then about 5 days ago that igniter went bad and i ordered a new one that supposedly improved so we will see. I dont know if my car is obd1 or 2 but ill google how to find out i guess and see if thats part of my problem. I really dont know all the changes the previous owner made.

Btw im getting both distributors online because a plain igniter is 260 bucks vs 110 for the whole dissy online and all the part stores around here want far more for both.
